Cookie policy
Last updated: 3 November 2026
This policy explains the cookies and similar storage that the 12 Days of Pet-mas site uses, and how you can control them.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Sites can also save information in your browser's "local storage", which works in a similar way. In this policy we call both of these "cookies".
Cookies we use
Strictly necessary
The site can't work properly without these, so they're always on. They're stored in your browser only, and they aren't used for advertising.
| Name | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
petmas-2026:signed-up | Remembers that you've signed up on this device and your pet's name, so the site says "You're in" instead of showing the form again | Until you clear your browser storage |
petmas-2026:draft | Keeps your answers if the page reloads while you're filling in the form | Deleted when you finish signing up |
petmas-2026:opened | Remembers which doors you've opened on the calendar | Until you clear your browser storage |
| [OneTrust consent cookies, e.g. OptanonConsent] | Remember your cookie choices | [per OneTrust setup] |
Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that sign-ups come from real people, may also use storage that's needed for that check.
Analytics
These count visits and show which doors are opened most, so we can improve the site. We only use them if you accept them in the cookie banner or in Cookie settings.
| Name | Provider | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga, _ga_* [confirm when analytics is set up] | Google Analytics | Tells visits apart and measures how people use the site | Up to 2 years |
Advertising
We don't use advertising cookies on this site. [If a Meta pixel is added for paid campaigns, list it here and add an advertising option to Cookie settings.]
Other services
Our fonts load from Google Fonts. Your browser connects to Google's servers to download them, so Google receives your IP address. Google Fonts doesn't set cookies.
How to manage cookies
- Use Cookie settings, linked at the bottom of every page (provided by OneTrust).
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you clear strictly necessary storage, the site will show the sign-up form again on that device. You'll still get your perk emails.
